The port of Zeebrugge is the second largest port in Belgium and it has had infrastructure for the storage and transfer of LNG since 1987 and is one of the main access points for LNG supplies in North-Western Europe. The LNG terminal was built for loading and unloading LNG to and from ships. Buffer tanks with a capacity of 9 billion m3 LNG per year are used for temporary storage in site. The LNG is distributed via the distribution network, and loaded into LNG ship or LNG trucks
To ensure perfect operation, as long as possible with all the guarantees and approvals, we carried out a complete study and provide as a solution Atex control boxes with included wiring and an internal flameproof protection of the Contrex Series finished in AISI 316L marine stainless steel; that stand out for their robustness, tightness and resistance to corrosion in explosive atmospheres classified as areas 1, 2, 21 and 22.
